This three-day island sail will take passengers from Scalloway up the west coast of Shetland, stopping in along some of the islands including Papa Stour and Vaila.

Join the Swan at the Boating Club in Scalloway and after your safety briefing, you will begin your sail along the west coast of Shetland enroute to Papa Stour and Vaila. Depending on time and weather, there may also be time to visit Skeld or Walls. You will experience wonderful views of sea stacks, spectacular rugged cliffs, tranquil bays, pebble beaches, and extraordinary sea caves.

All passengers will have the opportunity to assist with hauling ropes, taking the helm and sailing the boat.

This trip includes a rare opportunity at the invitation of the owners of Vaila to go ashore and see the restored Keep. An overnight anchor in both Vaila and Papa Stour may be possible depending on weather. If conditions allow, the crew will prepare the dinghy to allow further exploration of sea caves and the coastline.

A voyage on Swan is very much a hands-on experience - you are part of her crew, and work as a team to make your voyage happen. All tasks are shared and everyone joins in, from the most to the least experienced. For more details of what to expect on board please refer to our Welcome Aboard leaflet.
