Join us for a day's sailing in Scapa Flow, Orkneys natural harbour and a National Scenic Area from the scenic town of Stromness on Orkney’s west coast.

You will join Swan Lk 243 in Stromness, Orkney’s second largest town. After a safety briefing, cast the lines and head out for a day of sailing you will never forget, as part of the crew on our 120 year old traditional herring drifter.

Whilst taking in the spectacular views and wildlife the area has to offer, you and your crew mates will take an active part onboard, raising the sails, hauling out the bowsprit, taking a turn on the helm and keeping lookout. No previous experience is required as you will be under the instruction of our experienced crew at all times.

A lunch of soup and sandwiches will be served before making your return to Stromness.

As this is a sailing voyage, the exact route followed will be decided by our expert skipper to suit the conditions on the day, to give you the best sail possible whilst taking in Orkney’s many highlights.

Swan will depart Stromness at 10am and return around 4.30pm.
