Swan could not operate without the wide support of those in our community, and further afield. Our dedicated volunteers manage, maintain, fundraise, promote and operate Swan. We have a range of both individuals and companies which donate goods and/or money to help with our annual costs, and have also received funds from a range of funding bodies and corporate sponsors to purchase capital items and/or deliver one off events and projects.

The Swan Trust would like to thank each and every one who has given time, resources and money to help keep the Swan, and our heritage, alive.

We would like to thank Shetland Charitable Trust for its support towards our annual costs to operate and maintain Swan; Shetland Islands Council Coastal Communities Fund and Highlands and Islands Enterprise for funding assistance to deliver a three year community links and strategic priorities project; and John Goodlad, Author of The Cod Hunters book, for donating all royalties from his book to the Trust.

We would also like to highlight the fantastic support the Trust receives from Shetland’s seafood industry. Up to March 2021, the crews of 22 whitefish and pelagic boats, and more than 10 other fisheries related businesses supported Swan financially. The industry coming together is very humbling, and shows the importance of the work of the Trust and its volunteers.

Below are a selection of commercial sponsors and funding organisations which help support us.
