Following an enjoyable Cruise in Company between Fredrikstad and Lerwick, the crew of the Swan were delighted to receive the award for 'Outstanding Contribution to the Cruise in Company' from Race Director, Magda Makowska.
Five guest harbours offered a welcome to the fleet during the Cruise in Company leg from the Norwegian port of Fredrikstad to Swan's own home port in Lerwick. Aberdeen, Stromness, Cullivoe and Baltasound all offered hospitality and entertainment for the ships' crews as they made their way to Shetland's capital town.
Swan Skipper, Maggie Adamson, encouraged other ships in the fleet to accompany Swan to Cullivoe where local organisers of the 'Sail Yell' festival had worked tirelessly to arrange a fantastic programme of local food, drink, music and activities. 16 ships visited the harbour thanks to the efforts of the Sail Yell committee and the enthusiasm of the Swan crew in recommending the location.
Maggie collected the award on behalf of the Trust, joined on stage by crew members and trainees where they were given a rapturous reception by the home crowd.
