The Swan Trust
The Swan Trust was formed in 1990, and today is responsible for the operation and upkeep of the swan. The main objectives of the Trust are:
- To encourage and facilitate interested parties and particularly young people to sail on the swan.
- To teach and keep alive the techniques of sailing and working a traditional sail Fifie.
- To maintain the swan as a viable commercial enterprise.
The Trust has two committees, namely:
- The Swan Trustees Committee
The Trustees Committee meets quarterly and is attended by all trustees. The group takes overall responsibility for the management of the swan and decides all monetary issues. They are also responsible for the appointment of the skipper and crew.
- The Operations Committee
The Operations Committee meets monthly and deals with the day to day running of the swan, including the diary, crewing, maintenance, etc.
